Semarang City Government Installs CCTV Anticipating The Theft Of Park Grilling Equipment

SEMARANG - Semarang City Government, through the Housing and Settlement Areas Service (Disperkim), installed surveillance cameras (CCTV) in a number of parks to anticipate theft of installation equipment and garden sprinklers in the city.

Head of the Semarang City Disperkim Yudi Wibowo said the installation of CCTV devices was carried out in active parks prone to theft, such as Simpang Lima Park and Taman Indonesia Kaya (ICT).

Yudi admitted that several parks in the city of Semarang had indeed lost installation equipment, such as garden chairs, and plant sprinkler equipment, such as water taps and sprinklers. Thus, the Semarang City Disperkim felt the need to install surveillance cameras to prevent similar theft from happening.

"In Taman Sudirman, for example, it has worn aprinkler, but many are missing. It's also thick. Even though the tap andprinkler have only been installed for two weeks," Yudi said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 9.

According to him, the price of taps and sprinkles in city parks is not expensive, but its function is very important, so it will be troublesome if it is lost.

"At ICT, that's why we use CCTV, at Simpang Lima too. Sometimes wanting to take care of (loss) is a hassle, the price is only that much, but it's very functional," continued Yudi.

Yudi appealed to the public to participate in supervising the existence of installations in public facilities, such as city parks, from irresponsible people.

"So, I urge the public to jointly participate in supervising if there are irresponsible people, for example taking the tap and other facilities in the park," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding maintenance and improvement of the park, Yudi said that in urban parks, a plant watering system has been installed with a connected pipeline network.

"It was done yesterday through the 2023 revised budget (APBD), namely in Diponegoro Park, Sudirman Park, Jalan Pahlawan, and Siranda Park," he said.

With this watering system, there are parks that use groundwater and subscribe to clean water PDAM Semarang City, so there is always water supply to water plants.

"So, there are in the form of reservoirs (water reservoirs), some are subject to PDAM. If there are reservoirs and pumps, then we will prepare the pipeline network," said Yudi.
