Third Debate Called Jokowi Unsubstantive, Ganjar: I Attack Program

JAKARTA - Presidential Candidate number three, Ganjar Pranowo emphasized that he had never personally attacked other candidates. Including, in the third debate with the theme of defense and security on Sunday night, January 7 yesterday.

This was conveyed by Ganjar in response to the criticism of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) who called the debate unsubstantive. The presidential candidates who competed were considered to be attacking each other personally.

"I didn't personalize," said Ganjar to reporters quoted on Tuesday, January 9.

Ganjar felt his question to the presidential candidate number two, Prabowo Subianto in the debate also did not intend to attack personally. "I attacked the program," said the former Governor of Central Java.

As previously reported, President Jokowi assessed that the vision and mission of the candidate pair in the 2024 presidential election was not seen during the debate. The contestants are actually considered to be attacking personally.

"That's actually okay, as long as the policy, the origin of the policy, the origin of the vision is okay," said Jokowi during a working visit in Serang, Banten as reported by Antara, Monday, January 8.

"I think (if it attacks personal, red) it does not provide education, it does not educate the people who watch it, I think many will be disappointed," he added.

In the future, the presidential election debate needs to be formed even better. If necessary, continued Jokowi, there must be signs so that the debate can be more lively.

"At least it's okay to attack each other, but the policies, policies, visions that are attacked are not to drop each other with personal motives. I don't think it's good and not educating," concluded the former governor of DKI Jakarta.
