JAKARTA - Dede Jaya (28), the perpetrator of the murder of a watermelon fruit trader at Kramatjati Market, could only surrender when members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kramatjati Police arrested him, Monday, January 8. The suspect was arrested while sleeping at his uncle's house.

Kramatjati Police Chief Kompol Tuti Aini said Dede Jaya was arrested at his family's residence, which is located in the Pamulang area, South Tangerang.

The arrest of the suspect was carried out by joint personnel from the Kramatjati Police and Jatanras Polres Metro East Jakarta. The suspect's arrest was made in less than 1 x 24 hours.

"We received information this morning at 04.00 WIB at dawn and went straight to the crime scene (TKP) by a member led by the Criminal Investigation Unit. It was caught in Pamulang ( while sleeping)," said Kompol Tuti, Monday, January 8.

After committing the murder, the perpetrator fled and hid at his uncle's house in the Pamulang area. However, until this news was written, the motive for the murder was not yet known. According to information circulating, it is suspected that the motive for the murder was because the perpetrator was burning with jealousy.

"We are still investigating the motive, because we were just arrested earlier and we are still investigating it," he said.
