Landslides In Pasanggrahan Subang, West Java BPBD: 300 People Refuge, 2 Died

West Java (West Java) Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) revealed 300 people were displaced by landslides in Pasanggrahan Village, Kasimalang District, Subang Regency.

West Java BPBD Chief Executive Dani Ramdan said the victims of the disaster also included a number of injured residents, and two people died.

"The West Java BPBD team is already at the location to evacuate and assess the needs of personnel, equipment and logistics for disaster management," he said in Subang, West Java, Monday, January 8, was confiscated by Antara.

Dani added that those who fled were placed in Majlis Ta'lim Bantar Panjang. The landslide occurred after heavy rains fell on Sunday, January 7 afternoon.

"Until now, the assessment and data collection are still being carried out. We also continue to coordinate with various parties so that the handling of this landslide disaster runs optimally," said Dani.

He asked the public to be vigilant in anticipating natural disasters that hit a number of areas in West Java in the last few days.

On Monday, January 8, Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin visited the location of the landslide in Pasanggrahan Village.

"For residents affected by the landslide who are now displaced, for the families of the victims as well, we are also concerned about this tragedy. Hopefully they will remain steadfast and be given patience," said Bey.

He conveyed that his party conducted a direct review of the disaster site as a form of concern and synergy between the West Java Provincial Government and the Subang Regency Government.

To the refugees, Bey advised to be patient not to return home until conditions were confirmed safe because it was feared that there would be further landslides.

"Please be patient to stay in the evacuation first, until conditions are safe, because the weather is quite extreme at this time," he said.
