North Sumatra Police Arrest Fisherman Dealing With 10 Kilograms Of Shabu

The North Sumatra Police (North Sumatra) arrested men with the initials AS (47) and SB (40), fishermen selling 10 kilograms of methamphetamine.

"The two fishermen who were arrested had the initials AS and SB, a resident of Sei Keyang Barat District, Asahan Regency, North Sumatra," said Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Hadi Wahyudi in Medan, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, January 8.

He said the two fishermen were arrested when personnel from Sub-Directorate 1 of the North Sumatra Police Narcotics Directorate (Dit) received information about the circulation of methamphetamine in Hamlet I, Sei Serindan Village, Sei Kepayang Barat District, Asahan Regency on Sunday (8/1).

"From that information, personnel headed to the location. Arriving there, they arrested the perpetrators of SB," he said.

Personnel carried out developments that arrested partners, namely the US, from the results of SB's interrogation.

"Furthermore, personnel are searching for 10 packs of methamphetamine found weighing 10 kilograms from the canoe on the banks of the Sei Serindan River," said Hadi.

Based on the initial information when examined, the perpetrator SB admitted that the evidence belonged to him and had received transportation money amounting to Rp. 18 million from a dealer whose identity was known.

Hadi said the two perpetrators along with 10 kilograms of methamphetamine evidence had been brought to the North Sumatra Police Directorate for further investigation.

"Investigators already know the identity of the dealer and are developing other networks," said Hadi.
