Jember University political observer Dr Muhammad Iqbal assessed that presidential candidate Anies Baswedan was still the king of debate with the art of argument in the third debate held by the KPU at Istora Senayan on Sunday (7/1) night.

"Regarding dispute resolution in the South China Sea. Anies is more assertive by reminding how important and strategic ASEAN's role is as the key to the solution to the South China Sea dispute," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, January 8.

Iqbal said Anies reiterated that Indonesia must become the Commander of Diplomacy and an effective leader taken into account in ASEAN so that the togetherness of ASEAN member countries is believed to be able to play an active role in finding solutions to the conflictine dash line which is claimed to be unilateral by China.

Meanwhile, Ganjar more offered to strengthen Indonesia's security patrols and logistics infrastructure and build "temporary agreements" without explaining in more detail what agreements and which parties.

Prabowo normatively emphasized that Indonesia needs satellites, patrols and a strong defense system to be built.
