Jokowi Admits He Has Not Received An Invitation To The 51st Anniversary Of PDIP

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) admitted that he had not received an invitation from PDIP regarding the 51st PDIP Anniversary event.

This was revealed by Jokowi after inaugurating the Pamulang-Cinere-Raya Bogor Toll Road at the Limo Utama Toll Gate, West Java, Monday, January 8.

"I haven't received an invitation yet," said Jokowi briefly in response to questions from the media crew.

It is known that PDIP will hold the party's 51st Anniversary event on January 10. However, rumors circulated that Jokowi would not attend the event because of the schedule that clashed with the agenda for working visits abroad.

The Presidential Special Staff Coordinator, Ari Dwipayana, said Jokowi would make a working visit to a number of ASEAN countries.

"There is a plan for (Jokowi) to visit abroad, but the certainty is that I will still update it to friends (journalists). There are plans (Jokowi) to several countries in ASEAN," said Ari at the Palace, last Friday.

Previously, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto admitted that he had heard that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) would carry out state duties abroad on January 10. However, Hasto emphasized that the 51st PDIP Anniversary event would focus on uniting the people.

"We have also received information that Mr. President Jokowi will carry out the task of the state by going abroad in the Philippines. But the character of this activity is to come down together with the people themselves," Hasto told reporters at the PDIP DPP, Central Jakarta, last Saturday.
