Prabowo Dinner With The President, Puan: I'm Waiting To Be Invited

JAKARTA - The chairman of the DPR and the Chair of the PDIP DPP, Puan Maharani, commented on President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) who was at the dinner grave with presidential candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto at a restaurant in Jakarta, a few days ago.

"Yes, it's good (to have dinner together), right? It's not good to eat alone. If you're alone, it's more exciting," said Puan, Sunday, January 7.

The meeting between Jokowi and Prabowo raised the issue of discussing Jokowi's support for Prabowo in the 2024 presidential election. Puan also admitted that she did not know about the discussion of the two of them in the dinner together.

"Yes, maybe I didn't participate in the meeting. It's good that there is a dinner together, because if you eat dinner yourself it's not good," he said.

Furthermore, Puan even hopes to be invited to dinner with the president one day.

"I'm waiting for the president to invite me," concluded Puan while smiling.

Previously, Jokowi and Prabowo were seen having dinner at a restaurant in the area around Central Jakarta, on Friday last week. Prabowo was seen wearing a batik shirt while Jokowi chose to wear a plain white shirt.

The warm and familiar atmosphere is reflected in the interaction between the two during dinner.

Although there is no official information about their topic of conversation, this meeting was perceived by many parties as an indication of Jokowi's support for Prabowo's candidacy as president.

This speculation was supported by a number of previous events when President Jokowi was seen giving a signal of support to Prabowo, including when they were both present at an event held by the Indonesian Islamic Da'wah Institute (LDII) at the Minhaajurrosyidiin Grand Ballroom, Jakarta, November 7, 2023.

At that time, President Jokowi conveyed the importance of leaders who have strong leadership character, a quality that is often associated with Prabowo Subianto's personality.
