Turkish Foreign Minister: There Is No Justification For Israel's Barbarism Attack On Gaza

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said Hamas' actions could be criticized, but we must not ignore the issue of indiscriminate killing of Gazans. He described the ongoing Israeli army attacks in Palestinian territory as barbaric.

There is a narrative built by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who framed the entire process with several events that occurred on October 7 and presented it to the West based on what happened that day. He (Netanyahu) told the incident as 'I have been killed. The culprit is barbaric.' So it doesn't matter what happened to him," Fidan told reporters in Ankara, Sunday, January 7.

"Turkey's attitude really exposed the strategy he described, and the narrative received by Western countries," he said.

Israel has launched non-stop air and landstrikes in the Gaza Strip since cross-border attacks by the Palestinian Hamas group on October 7.

At least 22,185 Palestinians have been killed and 57,035 others injured, according to Gaza's health authorities, while nearly 1,200 Israelis are believed to have died in Hamas attacks. Fidan stressed that Hamas' actions against civilians could be criticized.

"But we must not ignore the issue of indiscriminate killing of Gazans by using them as an excuse," he added, quoted by VOI from Anodalu.

If you define Hamas based on its actions against civilians, the same rules must also apply to Israel. So, you should also define Israel in the same way. These are issues they cannot respond to," said Foreign Minister Fidan.

He also talked about Turkey's cross-border anti-terror operation and its recent approaches to the Baghdad and Erbil governments.

We are working closely with Erbil in fighting terrorism. They, in particular, have the same concern for the PKK," he explained.

"Our cooperation with Erbil is growing every day," added Fidan.

PKK terrorists often hide in northern Iraq to plan cross-border attacks on T\urkiye.

In more than 35 years of its terror campaign against Turkey, PKK registered as a terrorist organization by T\urkiye, USA, and EU is responsible for the deaths of more than 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.
