KAI Notes 8 Travels Diverted To Cirebon Impact Of Turangga-Bandung Raya Train Collision

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Operational Area (Daop) 3 Cirebon noted that around eight train trips (KA) to Bandung, West Java, were diverted through its territory due to an accident at KM 181+700 Haurpugur Station-Cicalengka Station. "There are eight train trips from and to the bandung destination walking around through the Daop 3 Cirebon area," said Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 3 Cirebon Rokhmad Makin Zainul when met in Cirebon, West Java, Antara, Friday, December 5. Rokhmad said the eight trips consisted of the Lodaya Bandung-Solo train, Argo Wilis Bandung-Surabaya Gubeng train, Baturaden Express Bandung-Purwokerto train, Lodaya Solo-Bandung train, two Serayu trains, Pasundan train and others. Based on the results of the data collection, he said, four train trips will go through the northern crossing route from Cirebon Station and four other trains will be diverted to cross the Prujakan Cirebon Station route. "The train trip should have gone through a crossing in the Kroya area to Bandung, because there were obstacles, so it turned from Purwokerto to Cirebon then to Bandung," he said. Rokhmad explained that the diversion of the train route to Bandung was a quick action by PT KAI which implemented operational pattern engineering, to ensure service to passengers continued. In addition, he said that until now, efforts to evacuate two series of trains involved in the accident are still being carried out and accompanied by rail rail repairs in the KM 181+700 area of Haurpugur Station-Cicalengka Station. “ The diversion using other transportation is also carried out. Daop 3 Cirebon, which passed by the Serayu train at 10.00 WIB, ” he said. Rokhmad also appealed to the public that they could still use the train according to plan because there was no change in travel at Daop 3 Cirebon.
