SAR Team Says There Are Still 2 Victims Trapped In The Turangga-KA Local Bandung Raya Train Collision Incident

The joint SAR team is still carrying out efforts to evacuate victims of the Turangga train collision with the Bandung Raya local train at KM 181+5/4 Babakan Village, Cicalengka Village, Bandung Regency, this morning at around 06.03 WIB. Head of the Bandung SAR Office, Hery Marantika, said that currently there are 2 victims who are trapped in the train. Some of the victims were caught in the train body. "We have evacuated the victim as much as possible and trapped in the carriage. Two victims are still trapped," said Marantika as quoted by Kompas TV, Friday, December 5. For evacuation efforts, the joint SAR team has two methods. First, continued Marantika, train carriages can be pulled or will be cut. "We will try," he explained. The Turangga train accident occurred at KM 181+5/4 Babakan Village, Cicalengka Village, Bandung Regency at around 06.03 WIB. Three people died in this incident, namely the local KRD driver Padalarang-Cicalengka, Julian Dwi Setiono, Assistant Driver of the KRD Local Ponisan and Pramugara KA Turangga named Adrian. Meanwhile, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) together with the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) immediately investigated the cause of the train accident (KA) in Cicalengka, Bandung Regency, West Java. "KAI will also conduct an investigation with the NTSC to find out the cause of the accident," said KAI Vice President Public Relations Joni Martinus in a statement reported by ANTARA, Friday, January 5.

Another effort is to evacuate two series of trains and repair damaged rail lines.
