JAKARTA - A 17-year-old teenager killed a 6-grade student and injured five others in a school shooting in the state of Iowa, United States, security forces said.
The shooting took place at 07.37 am local time at Perry High School, which is about 64 kilometers northwest of downtown Des Moines in Dallas County.
The shooter was identified as Dylan Buttler, who is a student of the school.
Butler used a small-caliber pump gun and pistol, Iowa Division Assistant Director of Criminal Investigation Mitch Mortvedt said at a press conference.
Mortvedt said Buttler "made a number of social media posts around the time of the shooting" and authorities tried to secure the evidence.
"All the evidence shows Buttler acting alone," he said as quoted by ANTARA from Anadolu, Friday, January 5.
Those injured include four students and a school employee who are now being treated in several hospitals.
