Malaysian PM Urges Mastermind Of Bombing Action In Iran Diadili

JAKARTA - Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim urged that the masterminds of the violence in Kerman Province near Iran on Wednesday (3/1) who claimed lives could be tried.

"It was very sad when several bombs were reported to have exploded in Kerman province near Iran yesterday. This attack has claimed nearly a hundred innocent lives and injured more than two hundred others," Anwar said via his social media account quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, January 4.

Malaysia protested and condemned and strongly condemned all forms of violence against innocent people.

"It has been almost three months since the world witnessed the massacre of innocent people by Israel in Palestine and most recently in Lebanon two days ago," said Anwar.

Malaysia expresses its condolences to the friendly countries of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its citizens, and Malaysia also expresses its condolences and solidarity, he continued. Anwar also said Malaysia urged that the mastermind behind the violence be brought to justice.

"In this new year, Malaysia wants to invite the world to protest against the culture of violence and greed and save mankind universally," he said.

In a media release, Malaysia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Malaysia strongly condemned the bombing in the Kerman Cemetery area in Kerman City on January 3, 2024, which has claimed at least 95 lives and injured hundreds.

Malaysia firmly rejects any acts of violence and violent activity and calls for those involved to be brought before the court immediately, according to the statement.
