Budiman Sudjatmiko Reveals The Only Reason To Leave PDIP Then Support Prabowo

JAKARTA - Member of the TKN Expert Council Prabowo-Gibran, Budiman Sudjatmiko, revealed the only reason he left the PDI-P and then supported Gerindra Chairman Prabowo Subianto to become a presidential candidate in 2024.

"This is the only reason why I support Pak Prabowo. Earlier they talked about the domestic aspect, the sociology, maybe also the anthropology of our voter behavior, but the only time it was to support Pak Prabowo, is the geopolitical aspect," Budiman said in a discussion entitled 'Talking Together with the One Round Presidential Election' at the Prabowo-Gibran Volunteer Secretary in Jakarta, Thursday, January 4.

Budiman admitted that this geopolitical aspect was not an excuse when he supported Joko Widodo in the previous presidential elections. Therefore, the former PDIP cadre and former 98 activist believe that Prabowo must become president in 2024.

"Why does Indonesia have to win Pak Prabowo? If Pak Prabowo talks about saying he defends the people and defending the farmers, maybe he still loses to me. Not only that, if he only sells the people, I will not be too impressed. Everyone also talks about it, with their respective versions," said Budiman.

"And it's been like that for a long time. But this is the first time I've seen it, and I never used this when I supported Pak Jokowi in the past, but I used this when I supported Pak Prabowo, this is because we pay attention to geopolitical situations, geostrategies, geoeconomics," he continued.

Just for that reason, Budiman admitted that he was willing to leave the PDIP he had supported since elementary school (SD). He also considered that Prabowo's one-round win was a must.

"That's why one of the reasons I left my previous party. Winning a round is not our choice. If we want to think strategically, winning a round is not an option but a must," said Budiman.
