JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is ready to face a pretrial filed by former Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights (Wamenkumham) Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej or Eddy Hiariej to the South Jakarta District Court (PN). The application will be answered by the legal bureau team later.
"Of course we are ready to face it if the suspect is in question again filing a pretrial. The KPK through the legal bureau will answer all the arguments for the application," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters in a written statement, Thursday, January 4.
Ali ensured that the investigation into the alleged receipt of bribes by his party was in accordance with the rules. The KPK is ensured to comply with legal provisions.
"Including when naming someone as a suspect, it must be based on the adequacy of the correct evidence and procedures," he said.
Previously reported, Eddy re-registered the pretrial lawsuit to the South Jakarta District Court. The inaugural trial is planned to be held on January 11.
The submission was made after the former Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights' camp withdrew the pretrial lawsuit on December 20.
