JAKARTA - The West Jakarta General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) (Jakbar) said that based on the results of a meeting with the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), the political party will check its billboards once a week.

This was done following PSI's billboards that hit a motorcycle rider named Agus Riyanto on Jalan Auto Ringroad No.18 Rt.004/001 North Kembangan, Kembangan, West Jakarta.

"Yes, it means their responsibility, they will evaluate the entire banner and billboard. Their statement, within one week they will always be around to check the condition of the existing billboards," said the Coordinator of the Public Relations and Relations Prevention and Supervision Division between the West Jakarta Bawaslu Institute, Abdul Rouf, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 3.

Rouf said the West Jakarta Bawaslu did not fully blame PSI for the incident in Kembangan some time ago.

"Yes, we also don't blame 100 percent of them. At the time of installation, there was indeed a vendor, the second party carried out the installation," said Rouf.

He said the evaluation of billboards or banners should also be carried out by other political parties (Parpol).

"Yes, from us, not only for one political party, but for the entire political party. There is an appeal from us, to our political party friends, so that the existing billboards are re-examined or re-evaluated," said Rouf.

Bawaslu Jakbar then gave PSI administrative sanctions in the form of warnings to anticipate similar incidents that would not happen again.

"Yes, we gave that including a warning earlier. The warning was made so that (the billboard installation) was re-evaluated by them," said Rouf.

If a similar incident happens again, said Rouf, then it is reflected as negligence and it is the police's authority to take care of it.

"Well, if that means that in terms of negligence, the domain is not land in Bawaslu anymore. Yes (the authority of the police), if we are only related to campaigns," concluded Rouf.
