Samarinda Administrative Court Rejects The NasDem-Democrat Kaltara Lawsuit Regarding The Pileg DCT

TANJUNG CELLOR The State Administrative Court (PTUN) of Samarinda, East Kalimantan (Kaltim), rejected the overall lawsuit against the General Election Commission (KPU) of North Kalimantan (Kaltara) regarding the list of permanent candidates (DCT) for the 2024 Election of Legislative Members (Pileg).

The chairman of the Kaltara KPU, Suryanata Al Islami, revealed that the Samarinda Administrative Court issued a decision related to DCT on December 20, 2023.

"The decision issued by the Samarinda Administrative Court states that it rejects the plaintiffs' overall lawsuit against the KPU," said Suryanata, Wednesday, January 3.

Two lawsuits, namely from the NasDem Party and the Democratic party, were not all accepted or rejected by the Samarinda Administrative Court.

"We (KPU) immediately followed up on the Administrative Court's decision by holding a plenary meeting, we have received a copy of the decision," said Suryanata.

The results of the plenary meeting, continued Suryanata, were immediately followed up by submitting an official report to the KPU regarding the Samarinda Administrative Court decision.

"If we read the verdict, it means that what is carried out by the KPU in terms of determining the DCT for the 2024 General Election (General Election) is appropriate," he explained.

To note, this lawsuit case began with the plaintiff to the Kaltara General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) after the Kaltara KPU determined the 2024 General Election DCT in November 2023.

After processing, the Kaltara Bawaslu decided to adjudicate the dispute filed by the Nasdem Party and the Democratic Party with the results of granting it as a whole and granting it in part.

However, after the adjudication decision, the Indonesian Bawaslu submitted a letter to the Kaltara Bawaslu regarding the notification of the adjudication decision correction on the 2024 election process dispute dated November 23, 2023. This letter from the Indonesian Bawaslu came down after the examination and assessment of the two decisions on the resolution of the 2024 election process dispute.

After making corrections, the Indonesian Bawaslu finally determined something different from the Kaltara Bawaslu, namely stating that they had rejected the two applicants as a whole.
