Deputy Chairperson Of TKN Regarding Prabowo-Gibran Billboards In Batam Welcome Icon: Local Bawaslu Is A Campaign Area

The National Campaign Team (TKN) responded to the Campaign Performance Tool (APK) in the form of Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka billboards installed on the Welcome to Batam (WTB) icon.

According to the Deputy Chairperson of the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN), Habiburokhman, the installation of the APK in WTB is a campaign area based on a local Bawaslu letter.

"Installation of billboards, which we have information that the area is called a welcome field, the welcome field has a local Bawaslu letter that says it can be a campaign area," said Habiburokhman, Wednesday, December 3.

Habiburokhman said there was a local Bawaslu letter issued before the installation of the campaign area.

"Anyway, there are areas in Batam that are allowed for campaigns, including the welcome field," he said.

As previously reported, the Head of the Riau Islands Bawaslu Zulhadril Putra said the installation of the APK at WTB (Welcome to Batam) was not in accordance with PKPU number 15 of 2023, so it had to be removed.

He explained that based on the PKPU, the APK was prohibited from installing places of worship, hospitals, educational facilities, government buildings, certain government-owned facilities, and other facilities that could disrupt general control.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Legal Team and TKD Prabowo-Gibran Kepri Advocacy, Musrin, said that he had reported a complaint to the Barelang Police by suspecting that there was an element of destruction carried out by the Head of the Riau Islands Province Bawaslu and the Chairman of Batam Bawaslu regarding the reduction of the presidential and vice presidential billboards 02.

He conveyed that his party deeply regretted the actions taken by Bawaslu, because there was no written notification to the TKD 02 Riau Islands team.

Musrin said that on December 27, 2023, his party had submitted an application to the Batam City Government, in this case the Cipta Karya and Spatial Planning Office.

Then on the same date, the letter has been replied to from the relevant agencies, where in the letter a permit was given to TKD 02 to install billboards at WTB.
