Affirms El Nino BLT Residents Affected By Drought, Jokowi: Special BLT, Not Everyone Gets

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated that El Nino's Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) is a special assistance for beneficiaries affected by drought.

This was conveyed by the head of state in his dialogue with a number of beneficiaries of the government's rice reserve food assistance (CBP) at the Bulog Klahun Warehouse, Banyumas Regency, Central Java, Wednesday, January 3.

"Because this is indeed a special BLT, not all of them can, but not also chosen, not really," he said, confiscated by Antara.

The President also emphasized that BLT El Nino was given by the government to help the community in dealing with price increases due to the long dry season.

"BLT El Nino is indeed to close the price increase in the field, because yesterday was a long summer," he said.

On this occasion, the head of state also ensured that 10 kilograms of CBP food assistance for each beneficiary was still ongoing and ended in March 2024.

"This means that in January you have all of them? Have you received everything? In January you will get it again, in March you can get it again," he said.

Furthermore, the President also said that the government would continue the assistance if the budget in the APBN was sufficient. "If later I calculate the APBN first, we can continue it in April, May, June," he said.
