Jokowi Remembers The Late Rizal Ramli: Smart Economist And Critical Activist Of National Love

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is sorry for the death of economist and former Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Rizal Ramli. Jokowi knows Rizal as an intelligent economist.

"My deepest condolences for the passing to Rahmatullah, Mr. Rizal Ramli, the former coordinating minister of maritime affairs, yesterday, in Jakarta. I know the late Rizal Ramli as an economist who is intelligent and an activist who is critical because of his love for his nation," Jokowi said on his X social media account, Wednesday, January 3.

The head of state prays for the late Rizal Ramli to have a field with Allah SWT. He also hopes that the family left behind will be given fortitude.

"Hopefully the spirit of the deceased will find a spacious place in the sight of Allah SWT and all the families and relatives left behind may be given patience," said Jokowi.

Rizal Ramli passed away at the Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) Jakarta on Tuesday, January 2.

The deceased died after about a month of being treated at the RSCM due to complications of the disease.
