COVID-19 Update As Of February 20: New 8,054 Cases Of 69,479 Specimens Examined

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 69,479 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 8,054 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1,271,353 people and as many as 158,197 active cases," as quoted from the Ministry of Health data, Saturday, February 20.

Cases recovered today increased by 9,835 cases, so that a total of 1,078,840 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 164 people and the total was 34,316 people.

The province with the largest new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 2,872 cases and a total of 325,903 cases. Followed by West Java, which has 975 new cases with a total of 193,348 cases.

Central Java has 805 new cases and a total of 146,975 cases. Then, East Java has 601 new cases and a total of 125,592 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 2,886 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 1,528 recovered cases, East Kalimantan with an additional 811 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 589 recovered cases.

No province reported having no new cases as of today. The province that reported the fewest new cases was Gorontalo with 6 cases.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 10,347,047. In detail, 10,197,582 specimens were examined using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 149,465 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

"The cumulative positive results per number of people examined or a positivity rate of 18.5 percent," he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 79,395 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently, there are 1,224,091 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 732,634 vaccines for the second dose. Meanwhile, the total vaccination targets reached 181,554,465 people.
