JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the National Team for the Winning of Anies-Muhaimin (Timnas AMIN) Iwan Tarigan admitted that his party did not object to the appointment of the MNC Group as the organizer of the broadcast of the third debate for the 2024 presidential election for the presidential candidate.
This was in response to the rejection from the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN) on the right to broadcast the third debate held by the television station owned by the Chairman of Perindo Hary Tanoesoedibjo.
"Until today, the 01 AMIN national team has not submitted an objection to the organizers using the MNC Group," said Iwan in his statement, Tuesday, January 2.
However, Iwan asked the KPU to carry out stricter supervision of MNC Group in the third debate later. The KPU also needs to combine other TV stations as debate organizers which will be held on January 7.
This is necessary to avoid public prejudice over the potential intervention of Hary Tanoe, whose party supports the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.
"KPU can use MNC Group but combined with a more neutral Media. Where we all know that MNC owners are Mr. Hary Tanoe and the Perindo Party. He as the chairman clearly supports pair 03. If this is done, the KPU and Banwaslu must carry out very strict supervision," explained Iwan.

Previously, TKN Secretary Prabowo-Gibran Nusron Wahid revealed that his party had sent a letter of objection to the KPU regarding the rejection of the MNC Group because it was considered to dominate the broadcast of the third presidential election debate which will be held on January 7.
"We have sent a request to the KPU, so that in one debate the organizers will not be monopolized by a TV group whose owners are the same and affiliated parties," said Nusron, Monday, January 1.
TKN proposes that one of the organizing media or broadcasting a third debate be exchanged for television media outside the MNC Group. As a MNC Group, it is owned by a political figure who is currently a supporter of one of the candidate pairs.
"Departing from these various considerations, we submitted a request to the KPU so that the organizers were exchanged so that they would not be in the same group, in order to avoid the conflict of interest," said Nusron.
