6-Year-Old Boy Found Dead Drowning Into The Bottom Of The Ciliwung River

JAKARTA - Entering the beginning of 2024, a boy was found dead while looking for small fish on the side of Ciliwung River, RT 13/02, Cina Talk Village, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta.

Victim Ahmad Rayuan (6) slipped and had drowned into the swift flow of the Ciliwung River on Monday, January 1, 2024.

"The victim was found dead due to drowning," said Head of the East Jakarta Gulkarmar Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman when confirmed, Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

Gatot explained, initially the victim was seen looking for fish on the edge of the Ciliwung river. But unfortunately, the victim's leg slipped and fell into the Ciliwung River.

"We have deployed 2 rubber boats with 10 personnel to look for victims," he said.

However, because the search with rubber boats did not produce results, the officers used a fire rescue team and Jakarta BPBD.

Not long after, the victim was found inside three meters in a lifeless state.

"Alhamdulillah, it was found. But the victim has died," he said.

After being evacuated, the victim's body was not carried out by an autopsy process. The officer immediately took him to the funeral home.
