The Search For Crew Members Drowning In Muara Pangkal Balam Using DJI Macic 3 Thermal, Has Not Beared Results

JAKARTA A crew member (ABK) named Imron (46) was reported missing drowning at the Muara Pangkal Balam pier, Pangkalpinang City, Bangka Belitung. The resident of Pancoran, South Jakarta, fell while resting on the side of the ship on Monday, January 1. Imron's disappearance was allegedly dragged by the ocean current. Until now it has not been found. Tuesday, January 2, the joint SAR team is still searching for Imron at the scene.

According to reports, Monday, January 1, at around 18.30 WIB, Imron was seen by witnesses sitting on the edge of their ship leaning on Muara Pangkal Balam, Pangkalpinang City. Suddenly, Imron fell into the sea at that time the water was receding.

Two of Imron's colleagues tried to save him. However, due to heavy current conditions, the victim could not be saved. Then the incident was reported to the Pangkalpinang Search and Rescue office.

Receiving this information, the Pangkalpinang Search and Rescue Office immediately dispatched 1 Rescue Team to the scene and opened a Joint SAR Operation. The Joint SAR Team consists of the Kansar Pangkalpinang Rescue Team, the KN SAR Karna crew and the Babel Police POLAIRUD.

"In simplifying the search for victims, Kansar Pangkalpinang deployed the DJI Macic 3 Thermal drone," said Head of the Pangkalpinang Search and Rescue Office, I Made Oka Astawa when confirmed, Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

Until now, the SAR team has not been able to find the victim. The SAR team is still looking for the victim's whereabouts using the DJI Macic 3 Thermal drone which can conduct visual searches.

"The victim reportedly fell by the victim's colleague while relaxing on the side of the ship. Then the victim's colleague reported the incident to Kansar Pangkalpinang. We are still looking," he said.
