Tourists Find Grenades While Vacationing On Konawe's Bokori Island

JAKARTA - Two tourists found a grenade while on vacation in the tourist area of Bokori Island, Soropia District, Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province (Sultra).

The Commander of the Soropia Military Rayon Command (Koramil), Captain Herman, when contacted by Antara, Monday, January 1, confirmed the grenade's findings. "It's true, at around 09.00 WITA this morning," said Captain Herman. He said that currently the grenade has been secured and immediately handed over to the police for investigation. "It has been handed over to the police," he explained. Meanwhile, according to residents' information, the pineapple-shaped grenade was first discovered by a tourist named Abdul Rahman, when he was about to go wash his hands on the beach on Bokori Island. "He saw suspicious items on the coast with the condition still submerged in sea water. Finally, he told his wife and father-in-law about it stuff," he said.

He explained that at that time the grenade was immediately lifted and handed over to the officers of the Bokori Island Security Post (PAM). "It has been received by PAM Post officers, his name was Bripka Jumbran," he said. It is known that the police are still investigating the discovery of grenades by tourists on Bokori Island, Konawe Regency.
