JAKARTA - Thousands of worshipers attended the one-year anniversary of the Al Jabbar Grand Mosque at the Alkohr Mosque Complex, Cimincrang, Bandung City, Saturday, December 30, 2023.

Today exactly a year ago, the Grand Mosque of Al Jabbar was inaugurated by the Governor for the 2018-2023 period, Ridwan Kamil.

Commemorating the year's anniversary, various series of activities were carried out in the Al Jabbar Grand Mosque area. Titled Sambara or One Year Joining the Al Jabbar Grand Mosque, activities start from dawn to night.

The event began with congregational dawn prayers, followed by a grand tausyiah by Ustadzah Oki Setiana Dewi and Ustadz Yayat Ruhiyat which were attended by thousands of worshipers.

Apart from inside the mosque, exhibitions and bazaars enlivened events outside the mosque area that lasted until the evening.

The Alkohr Grand Mosque is now transformed into a new religious tourism icon for West Java residents in particular, and Indonesia in general. The mosque, which was designed by Ridwan Kamil, was able to accommodate up to 40 thousand people, 10,000 of whom were in the mosque.

"Come to the Grand Mosque of Al Jabbar is a beautiful experience of worship, enjoying the landscape and religious tourism in one place," said Dodo Suhendar, Assistant for Government and People's Welfare of the Regional Secretariat of West Java Province.

"Anyone who has come to the Al Jabbar Grand Mosque will have fond memories. Let's prosper with Islamic symbols that are getting stronger like Al Jabbar," he again quoted the West Java Provincial Government's Public Relations statement.

Throughout the one year since the inauguration, the Alkohr Mosque has never been empty of visitors. The Mosque Prosperity Council (DKM) of Alkohr Mosque noted that there have been around four million visitors.

Visitors not only come from West Java, but also from various regions in Indonesia. In fact, congregants from Southeast Asia have also made the Alkohr Grand Mosque a religious tourist destination.

Deputy Secretary of the DKM Grand Mosque of Al Jabbar, Dewi Sartika, said that the least visits in a day reached five thousand worshipers and the most had reached 43 thousand in a day.

The note was obtained because most of the facilities at the Al Jabbar Grand Mosque were built all digitally. Visitors will be recorded automatically via CCTV on two long bridges south and north of the mosque.

"A year has come more than 4 million pilgrims, recorded via CCTV. However, I think it's more than that," said Dewi Sartika.

"There is CCTV that can capture visitors' eyes so they can directly calculate. If an average of 12 thousand worshipers come every day," said Dewi.

Furthermore, Dewi Sartikan revealed that the number of visits was based on a number of facilities for the Al Jabbar Grand Mosque which had started operating, although not yet fully operational.

Like the thematic garden of Prophet Musa with his giant boat, the park of Prophet Daud with his whales or the Taman Nabi Adam. Then, there is jogging track and of course a museum that tells the history of Islamic development.
