China Calls For Equal World Order, No Hegemonism

JAKARTA - President Xi Jinping said China firmly supports multipolar order in international relations with equal opportunities for all countries.

"China juga menyerukan globalization ekonomi yang inklusif dan bermanfaat inklusif secara universal, kata Xi dalam pernyataan tertulis Kementerian Luar Negeri China yang diterima ANTARA, Kamis, 28 Desember.

Xi spoke at the Central Conference on Foreign Politics in Beijing on 27-28 December 2023.

The Secretary-General of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (PKC) briefed members of the PKC Central Committee Politburo and others.

"A multipolar world that is equal and regular is a world where all countries, regardless of size, are treated equally, there is no hegemonism or politics of power and truly democracy is applied in international relations," Xi added.

Xi asked all parties to use the goals and principles of the UN Charter as a reference.

"Unified basic norms universally regulate international relations must be enforced by all parties, and true multilateralism must be practiced," he stressed.

President Xi Jinping also emphasized the situation of inclusive and universally beneficial economic globalization.

He also emphasized that the world must discuss the imbalance in inter- and within a country resulting from the division of global resources.

He firmly opposes all attempts to reverse globalization and abuse the concept of security.

"It is important to oppose all forms of unilateralism and protectionism, firmly promoting liberalization and facilitation of trade and investment," Xi said.

He stressed China's foreign politics will be guided by "Xi Jinping's Thoughts on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era" and "Xi Jinping's Thoughts on Diplomacy in particular".

Xi Jinping asked Chinese diplomats and the provincial Foreign Affairs Office to identify strategic tasks of Chinese diplomacy in a more multidimensional and comprehensive manner.

"We need to act stronger based on historical responsibility and the spirit of innovation to make new progress in Chinese diplomacy as a big country with our own characteristics," Xi concluded.
