DKI Transportation Agency Alerts Dozens Of Derek Cars On New Year's Eve At Thamrin-Sudirman

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) alerted 25 tow trucks in the Sudirman-Thamrin area during the "Young Night of Homecoming Jakarta Global" welcoming the New Year 2024.

"We have prepared 25 crane units that will be on standby along Sudirman-Thamrin on New Year's Eve 2024," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Syafrin Liputo at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Thursday, December 28.

Syafrin said the presence of the crane was to control vehicles parked not in place or parked in prohibited places.

"The route for the 'Young Night of Homecoming Jakarta Global' event must be clean, because when an emergency occurs, we can immediately evacuate or if there are vehicles belonging to residents who experience disturbances, we can help," said Syafrin.

According to Syafrin, vehicles parked carelessly on the side of the road can cause traffic jams and disrupt passing vehicles.

Syafrin said there were 24 parking locations for New Year's Eve 2024 activities around the event venue with 17,493 Parking Room Units (SRP) motorcycles, 21,914 cars, and 192 buses.

"It will be spread along Sudirman-Thamrin. For example, in FX (entering the building, in Sarinah, GBK area, also entering the SCBD area, there it is open, then in the Bunderan HI area, not wearing the shoulder of the road, will use parking buildings available along Sudirman-Thamrin," explained Syafrin, quoted by Antara.

The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency carried out traffic engineering in connection with a series of New Year's Eve 2024 events around Jalan Sudirman-MH Thamrin on Sunday (31/12) night.

Traffic engineering will start at 19.00 WIB to 01.00 WIB at 26 points in the capital city.

"To support this activity, traffic engineering will be carried out to close Jalan MH Thamrin to Jalan Jenderal Sudirman as many as 26 points," said Syafrin.
