JAKARTA - Turkish Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was "the last person" to talk about terrorism, genocide and morality, responding to accusations by the Israeli leader after President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's criticism.

"He has the skills to show the world his war crimes against civilians in self-defense. Even though the world failed to stop him, history would see him as a war criminal," Altun said on social media X, according to Daily Sabah December 28.

Highlighting Turkey's long-standing struggle against terrorism, Altun also rebuked PM Netanyahu for this.

"We have been fighting against the PKK terror group and its affiliates for more than 40 years. Kurdish people in Turkey themselves are fighting against PKK indiscriminately killing civilians and children like Netanyahu themselves!" he said.

In its terror campaign for more than 40 years against Turkey, the PKK, which is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates, is responsible for the deaths of more than 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.

Altun then criticized Netanyahu's moral stance by saying: "He can't tell anyone about how to carry out terror operations, because he has no experience in this field! He has been on a mission to expel Palestinians from their lands over the past four decades. Now he has taken it to a new level by using Israeli soldiers to kill civilians in their homes, hospitals and refugee camps," he criticized.

Netanyahu's PM cannot trick anyone by attacking our President (Recep Tayyip) Erdogan to distract from his war crimes. The world has seen what is happening in occupied Palestine," he continued.

"Netanyahu's desperate attempt to save his political career by killing civilians and expanding the war will surely fail. Our President Erdogan has called for this, and he will not stop fighting for justice, no matter how many lies Netanyahu has told the world," he added.

As previously reported, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said President Recep Tayyip Erdogan should be the last person to study his country, alluding to genocide against Kurdish citizens and imprisonment of journalists, in response to the comments of the Turkish leader.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's actions were no different from what Nazi leader Adolf Hitler did, likening Israeli attacks on Gaza to Nazi treatment of Jews.

Israel launched a massive military campaign in the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on October 7 that killed 1,200 people. The Israeli military campaign killed at least 21,110 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 55,243 others, according to local health authorities.
