Anies Gets Slapped When Surrounded By Volunteers, National Team Amin Tightens Security

JAKARTA - The captain of the National Team for the Winning of Anies-Muhaimin (Timnas Amin) Muhammad Syaugi said that his party would tighten security to his presidential candidate, Anies Baswedan during the 2024 election campaign. This is in response to Anies' incident when he was in the midst of the volunteers who surrounded him. "When Anies entered the room, he was immediately surrounded by volunteers who wanted to record Anies' picture using a cellphone, to try to shake hands with the former Governor of DKI Jakarta. From the video recording that captured the moment and went viral in the media, it appears that a man wearing a white t-shirt that reads AMIN sticking out his hands to hitting Anies' face like a slap. Anies was immediately shocked, but he immediately threw a smiling face while continuing to smile his supporters before entering the room. "That's actually something that we need to be aware of but that doesn't interfere with the smooth running of the campaigns by Mr. Anies, yes. That has been followed up by the security," explained Syaugi.

Syaugi admitted that his party did receive suggestions from a number of parties to pay attention to the security factor for Anies and his vice presidential candidate, Muhaimin Iskandar when meeting the community. "There are a lot of input from the community to us in this national team to pay attention to these things. So, we have followed up by increasing security," he explained.
