The Peak Area Applies Car Free Night On New Year's Eve, Here's The Schedule

BOGOR - On New Year's Eve 2024, the Puncak tourist route, Bogor Regency, West Java will enforce a night without motorized vehicles or car free nights.

This policy will be implemented along the Puncak route on December 31, 2023 starting at 18.00 WIB until January 1, 2024 at 01.00 WIB.

Bogor Police Chief AKBP Rio Wahyu Anggoro revealed, for people who want to spend New Year's Eve in the Pucak area, they are reminded not to leave at that time.

"We urge you to enter the Puncak area early before the implementation of the car free night," said Rio, Wednesday, December 27.

For people who want to go to the Cianjur or Bandung area, it is recommended to pass through two alternative routes, namely and the Ciawi-Cianjur route via Sukabumi with the Ciawi-Cicurug-Cibadak-Kota Sukabumi-Cianjur route, or the Cibubur-Cianjur route via Jonggol on the Cibubur-Cieungsi-Jonggol Cariu-Cikalong-Cianjur route.

In addition to imposing car free night, the odd-even system will also be implemented ahead of the 2024 New Year holiday.

"We use (the odd-even system) in order to regulate the number of vehicles that can go up to Puncak," said Rio.

In securing the celebrations of Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 (Nataru), especially in the Puncak area, the Bogor Police deployed 875 personnel.

In addition to relying on Traffic Unit (Satlantas) personnel, the Bogor Police also collaborated with various agencies, starting from the TNI, Bogor Regency Government, as well as community and youth organizations.
