JAKARTA - Perum Bulog stated that the Head of Banjar Warehouse, North Surabaya 2 had transferred after the viral video of workers bathing in rice which has become a topic of conversation on social media in recent times.

"The head of the Banjar Kemantren 2 warehouse in charge of activities in the warehouse of the incident has also been given SP (Warning Letter) and transferred," said Bulog Public Relations and Institutional Manager Tomi Wijaya as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 27.

Meanwhile, the workers who played with the rice, said Tomi, were casual daily personnel in the warehouse and not Bulog employees. As of Wednesday, December 27, the workers were no longer employed in Bulog Warehouse.

"Regarding the workers in the video that is currently circulating, it is a casual daily worker in a warehouse, not an employee of Bulog, and as of today the workers are no longer employed in the warehouse," he said.

Tomi said Bulog management is very focused and committed to providing the best service and product quality for the community. Therefore, Bulog's management immediately moved quickly to take firm action against the parties involved in the video.

Previously, a video went viral showing workers without wearing clothes, playing with rice by rolling over. The laborer was then poured with rice in the middle of a stretch of rice as if he was bathing. The video has become a topic of conversation on social media.

Tomi regretted the incident that occurred in the viral video. A small part of the imported rice whose sacks were torn from the ship's transportation to the warehouse, which should have been transported by workers to the "Rice to Rice" (RtR) machine, was instead played by unscrupulous workers.

"We have transported millions of tons of imported rice from the ship to Bulog warehouses, which means that tens of millions of sacks have been transported and only a few sacks have been torn and leaking so it needs to be collected to be transported back to the 'RtR' processing machine," said Tomi.

According to Tomi, Bulog already has quality standardization and quality control to maintain rice processing and quality.

"For this incident, Bulog management will increase supervision in warehouses to prevent actions that are not in accordance with the provisions that have been set," he said.
