Teenager Drowning While Bathing At Tibu Sendam Waterfall, West Lombok Found Dead

The joint SAR team found the drowning victim in the tourist area of the Tibu Sendalam waterfall, West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Wednesday, December 27.

The victim, on behalf of Fikri Maulana Jayadi (19) from North Marung neighborhood, Karang Baru Village, Selaparang District, Mataram City, was reported to have drowned while bathing in the natural tourist area on Tuesday, December 26.

"It was found dead in the vicinity of the incident," said Head of the Mataram SAR Office Lalu Wahyu Efendi in Mataram, Wednesday, December 27, as reported by Antara.

He said the victim was found at a depth of about 3 meters when the joint SAR team searched using aqua eye tools.

"We found it after diving," he said.

The victim was evacuated and then handed over directly to the family for burial.

The joint SAR operation involved a rescue team from the Mataram SAR Office, TNI, Polri, BPBD, IOF, medical team, local residents, and related parties.

"For this incident, we urge the public to remain vigilant when in tourist attractions, because natural disasters could have an impact this rainy season," he said.
