After Being Purely Freed From Cipinang Prison And Picked Up By Family, Alvin Lim Insinuated Ahok

Alvin Lim was picked up by his family after being released from Cipinang Class 1 Prison (doc. VOI).

JAKARTA - After breathing pure free air from Cipinang Class I Prison, Alvin Lim alluded to the President Commissioner of PT Pertamina, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok, who was considered soft after being imprisoned.

Alvin actually said he would not be like Ahok. He considered that he still wanted to enforce the law.

"I will remain vocal and will dare. I will not be like Ahok, which when he comes out (the prison) continues to be soft or silent."

"It's not like that, but law enforcement always exists because justice needs to be moved until the sky collapses," said Alvin at the Cipinang Class I Prison, Monday, December 25, 2023.

Alvin has officially been released from pure detention from the Class I Cipinang Penitentiary (Lapas), Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, Monday afternoon.

Alvin said he was free after receiving a one-month remission at Christmas 2023.

As is known, at least 764 residents of the Jakarta prison and detention center (rutan) received special remissions for reducing their prison terms during Christmas 2023.

In detail, as many as 747 received Special Remission I (partial reduction) and 17 people received Special Remission II.

Those who receive Special Remission II are declared immediately free. The granting of remission is given by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) of DKI Jakarta.

"I got Christmas remission. So, for a total of two years in prison I got remission twice, on August 17 one month and Christmas one month."

"I was supposed to be free in two weeks in January 2024, but I got one month remission at Christmas 2023 so I was free of pure accumulation," he said.

Alvin left prison and has been picked up by his daughter and family. Alvin's freedom was also welcomed by his relatives outside the Cipinang Class I Prison area.

Alvin was given flowers and photos of himself by his two children as a symbolic form of happiness that he was free from detention. Alvin said that after being declared free, he would continue to carry out his profession as a lawyer.

"After I am free here (Cipinang Class I prison) I will continue the pending cases," he said.

Alvin Lim was released after serving two years in prison for a document forgery case. Previously, Alvin Lim was sentenced to four years and six months in prison by the Panel of Judges at the South Jakarta District Court.
