315 Medan Class I Prisons Get Special Remission For Christmas 2023

MEDAN - Class I Penitentiary (Lapas) Medan, North Sumatra, provides special remission to 315 correctional inmates (WBP) in the momentum of the 2023 Christmas celebration.

"The decision letter for granting remissions given by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) of the Republic of Indonesia through the Directorate General of Corrections to the Medan Class I Prison WBP is 315 WBP," said Head of Medan Maju Class I Prison Amintas Siburian, ANTARA, Sunday, December 24.

He detailed that the number of prisoners who received remissions based on the PP 28 remission category did not exist, while the PP 99 remission category was 135 people and the normal category was 180 people.

"Meanwhile, the category is based on the type of crime, namely narcotics 134 people, corruption one person and general criminal acts 180 people," said Maju.

In addition, he said, based on the amount of remission for 15 days as many as four people, one month as many as 181 people, one month 15 days as many as 64 people and two months as many as 66 people.

For RK I or a partial reduction in the criminal period, 314 people and RK II or immediate remission are free for general crimes, undergoing a subsidiary fine for criminal acts related to PP 99 and PP 28 as many as one person.

Meanwhile, the Head of the North Sumatra Ministry of Law and Human Rights Correctional Division, Rudy Fernando Sianturi, said that overall 3,114 inmates from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the North Sumatra Regional Office received remissions at Christmas 2023.

Of the 3,114 prisoners consisting of 1,971 general criminals, 17 PP 28 of 2006 and 1,126 PP 99 of 2012.
