Bandung Police Destroys Tens Of Thousands Of Bottles Of Alcohol And Drugs

BANDUNG - Bandung City Police destroyed evidence of marijuana-type liquor and narcotics which was the result of disclosures from July to December 2023.

Bandung Deputy Chief of Police AKBP Imron Ermawan said the destroyed items consisted of 15,700 bottles of various types of liquor, 52,100 pills of illegal drugs, and 5 kilograms of marijuana.

"Today, the Bandung Police are still in a series of positions for the 2023 Lodaya Operations troops, carrying out the destruction of alcohol, drugs and illegal drugs," said Imron as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, December 21.

The tens of thousands of bottles of alcohol were destroyed by being run over by heavy equipment in the yard of the Bale Rame Building. The marijuana type narcotics were destroyed by burning.

He said the destruction of evidence from the operation six months ago was aimed at maintaining security and public order as well as preventing violations of the law on New Year's Eve.

Imron emphasized that his party will continue to anticipate to minimize drinking parties on New Year's Eve by placing thousands of personnel at several points in Bandung Regency.

"We have determined personnel at several points, of course any information from the public, such as a drinking party on New Year's Eve, God willing, we will follow up on its existence," he said.

In addition, he appealed to the public not to carry out convoy actions, because it is prone to accidents and disturbing public order.

"We urge all people of Bandung Regency, at the turn of the year, we should be wise, at least we ourselves do not violate the law or violate other rules, in order to create a safe and peaceful situation," he said.
