TMII Targets 300 Thousand Visitors On Christmas And New Year's Holidays

JAKARTA - Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) in East Jakarta targets the number of visitors during the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year holidays to reach 300 thousand people.

"The target is 300 thousand visitors during the Christmas and New Year celebration weeks, from December 21, 2023 to January 1, 2024. Hopefully it can exceed the target," said TMII Operations Director Arie Prasetyo during a press conference at TMII, East Jakarta, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, December 21.

He also estimates that the number of visitors during the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year celebration weeks will reach 20 thousand people to 25 thousand people per day.

To anticipate the increasing number of visitors, his party has added a number of portable toilet facilities and transportation modes as well as parking bags.

"For parking bags, we collaborated with'stakeholders' around TMII to increase parking capacity and we activated several parking bags in the area," he said.

The total capacity of parking bags in the area can reach three thousand vehicles. "Of course, plus cooperation with several'stakeholders' (outside the area)," he said.

With the theme "One There Land" presenting a unique and interesting concept, his party wants to make TMII a dream for all people from various circles of society who come to New Year's celebrations.

TMII is one of the four destinations of the crowd center for New Year's Eve celebrations in Jakarta.

"We make sure the security, transportation services and everything we prepare in welcoming the new year. Hopefully TMII can be a fun place for everyone at the end of the year," said Arie.

TMII also organizes various activities including music concerts that can be enjoyed by the public to enliven year-end holidays.

"This activity was enlivened by dozens of Indonesian musicians, podcasts to'stand-up comedy'," said TMII President Director Claudia Ingkiriwang.

Several musicians on the first phase of the "line up" included Okay on December 23, Aruma December 24, GJLS on December 25, Aldi Taher on December 25, Dikta on December 27, 2023, the Indies for December 28 and others.

"This line-up will continue to increase over time, which will certainly add to the excitement of the 'One There Land' program," he said.

In addition to the 12-day concert "One There Land" which was enlivened by Indonesian musicians, TMII also performed regional music and dance performances as well as shadow puppets as an effort to preserve traditional arts.

Regarding the "Dancing Fountain Tirta Cerita" performance, which is a harmonization of the multimedia mix of shows with "water screen" and fountains and drone lighting, which were previously routinely displayed every day starting at 18.30 WIB, the broadcast hours will be added.

"During the Christmas and New Year's Weeks, Tirta Cerita's performance will have additional broadcast hours," he said.

If usually only once a day, now it becomes five times a day. "Especially on New Year's Eve there will be 6 shows in one day," he said.

This Dancing Fountain Tirta Cerita is the largest fountain show in Jakarta and the largest fountain performance with drones in Southeast Asia.

Not only that, TMII visitors can also enjoy various other recreational activities, including visits to a bird park, reptile parks, riding a cable car or relaxing picnic with their families with many green open areas available.

TMII also prepares various dishes of the archipelago at the Culinary Festival to satisfy visitors with various food preferences. Namely in "Jakarta Crunchy Area" which specifically serves all kinds of bread products (baking/passion).

During the Christmas and New Year's Weeks, the operational hours of the TMII entrance gate will also be extended, starting at 05.00-22.00 WIB. Especially on New Year's Eve until 02.00 WIB.

TMII management imposed a special entrance ticket price during the week, which was IDR 50,000 per person. Visitors are advised to buy tickets online at www.tamanmini.com to avoid long queues at the entrance.

For those who use public transportation, there is a TransJakarta Bus Stop right at the entrance to TMII.

"There is also a free shuttle service that directly transports visitors from the LRT TMII Station Lobby to the Tourist Information Center TMII and vice versa," he said.
