Construction Of IKN Kodim, Jokowi Ensures Modern Concept And Green Building

Groundbreaking of the State Capital Kodim (IKN) North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan Province on Thursday, December 21.

JAKARTA - President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accompanied by the TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, conducted a Groundbreaking of the National Capital City Kodim (IKN) of North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan Province on Thursday, December 21.

The start of the construction of the Military District Command (Kodim) in the State Capital is one of the agendas of a series of Presidential activities during his visit to Penajam Paser Utara.

The President said the construction of the IKN Kodim on an area of 3.29 hectares must be adjusted to the vision of IKN as Forest City with all its facilities and infrastructure. in the future, it must be an example of the Kodim throughout the country.

"The IKN Kodim must be designed for a modern future vision as well as green building so that in the future it will become a benchmark or example for all Kodim in the country," said the President in his remarks during the groundbreaking.

The President advised that the trees around the Kodim construction were not cut too much considering that the IKN area is a green area with good quality trees.

"If it can be avoided logging so that later this Kodim will really be an example for Kodims throughout the country," continued the President.

President Jokowi assesses that IKN as the State Capital and the center of government is a strategic national vital project that must be guaranteed its safety.

Therefore, the President hopes that the existence of the IKN Kodim, which is a Type A Kodim, can assist the government in security tasks and protect IKN from various threats and disturbances that threaten the integrity of the Indonesian nation and state.

"I hope that later the IKN Kodim will assist the government in fostering regional resilience, maintaining IKN and upholding state sovereignty," hoped the President.

Also accompanying the President in this activity were Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency Hadi Tjahjanto, National Police Chief General Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Acting Governor of East Kalimantan Akmal Malik, Head of IKN Authority Bambang Susantono and IKN Development Curator Ridwan Kamil.
