Satpol PP Prioritizes 7 Churches In East Jakarta During Christmas Celebration

A total of 755 East Jakarta Satpol PP personnel will guard 148 churches in the East Jakarta area at the 2023 Christmas and New Year celebrations (Nataru).

Of the 148 churches guarded, the Satpol PP prioritizes security guarding only in 7 main churches.

"The seven priority scales for security are the St Yosep Church on Jalan Matraman Raya, the Catholic King of Santo Antonius Padua on Jalan Otista Raya, the Coinionian GPIB Church on Jalan Matraman, Jatinegara," said East Jakarta City Satpol PP Head, Budhy Novian, Thursday, December 21.

Then St Gabriel's Catholic Church, Pulogebang, Cakung. Santa Anna Catholic Church, Duren Sawit, Rawamangun HKBP Church on Jalan Balai Pustaka, Jawa Jakarta Christian Church on Jalan Balai Pustaka, Rawamangun.

"Extra care at these churches is because the consideration is that there are many congregations who worship in churches," he said.

Later, 755 personnel will join the elements of the TNI and Polri. In addition to helping with church security, Budhy continued, from December 22 to January 2, his personnel will be assigned to secure the 2023 Candle Operation.

They will be deployed in a number of integrated security posts in 10 sub-districts.

"The main focus is on a number of vital objects and crowded points," he said.

The locations for the Candle Operation include the front area of Jatinegara Station, Pulogebang Integrated Terminal and Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal.
