Bawaslu Response Viral Baliho Prabowo-Gibran At Mojokerto Police Post

MOJOKERTO - The East Java General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) responded to the installation of billboards for presidential and vice presidential candidates on one of the police posts in Mojokerto Regency, East Java.

The chairman of the East Java Bawaslu A Warits explained that the installation of campaign props (APK) was in the form of a billboard for the vice presidential candidate number 1 located at the Pacing Village T-junction, Bangsal District, Mojokerto Regency.

Likewise, the APK for presidential and vice-presidential candidates number 2, Prabowo-Gibran, which is located at the Police Monitoring Post at the Pekuhan Village intersection, Mojosari District, Mojokerto Regency.

"The East Java Provincial Bawaslu and the ranks of election supervisors at the district or city level always strive to maintain professionalism and uphold integrity in carrying out their duties, authorities and obligations," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 20.

Regarding the installation of the APK that was not in accordance with the provisions, Bawaslu asked the East Java Regional Police to take steps as a form of social responsibility for the upload that harmed Bawaslu.

"Submitting an official apology for the upload that has harmed Bawaslu institutionally through the official channel @HumasPoldaJatim and other official social media of the East Java Police. In addition, uploading clarification that the installation of the APK is not carried out by Bawaslu," he said.

The head of the Mojokerto Regency Bawaslu, Dody Faizal, said that his party received initial information that there was a campaign prop (APK) in the form of billboards belonging to one of the candidate pairs number 2 Prabowo-Gibran which was installed on the billboard board right above the traffic police monitoring post located in Pacing Village, Bangsal District, Mojokerto Regency.

"Not only the props belonging to the candidate pair number 2, but also the campaign props in the form of billboards belonging to candidate pair number 1 on behalf of Anis-Muhaimin are also on the billboard board right next to the police monitoring post located at the Pekuhan Village intersection, Mojosari District, Mojokerto Regency," he said.

On December 19, 2023, the two props were immediately lowered after the emergence of improvement suggestions from the Mojokerto Regency Bawaslu with Letter Number 331/PM.00.01/K.JI-15/12/2023.
