Expert On The Value Of Unethical Presidential And Vice Presidential Candidates Gives Gestur Provocation During The 2024 Presidential Election Debate

JAKARTA - Political Communication Expert at the State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Gun Gun Heryanto assessed that presidential candidates should not provide gestures that can provoke spectators in the 2024 presidential election debate.

"Tomorrow is the vice presidential debate. This means that the presidential candidate will not stimulate gestures that can provoke or tend not to be sympathetic," Gun Gun said at a discussion on "The Role of the Media in the Succession of the 2024 General Election" in Bogor, Tuesday, December 19, which was confiscated by Antara.

Gun Gun said that the candidates for the presidential and vice presidential candidates are role models for the Indonesian people who will be highlighted by all media.

The community also needs positive influencers who are shown during the debate.

In addition, the vice presidential candidate is also asked not to give rise to gestures that seem to demean potential opponents personally (personal) because they will harm themselves.

Supposedly, the presidential and vice presidential candidates in the debate pit ideas and thoughts, not give rise to expressions or gestures that can provoke the audience.

The vice presidential debate which will be held on Friday 22 December. must be prepared by each vice presidential candidate so that the answers given are not normative.

Cawapres is expected to verify the programs offered on a database to corroborate their arguments.

"If the argument is without being supported by data, it will be normative. The vice presidential candidate who tomorrow argues can enter the database to support each other's arguments," said Gun Gun.

The debate between the two vice presidential candidates for the 2024 General Election was held on December 22, 2023, with the theme of the people's economy, digital economy, finance, investment, taxes, trade, management of the APBN and APBD, infrastructure, and urban areas.
