Success In BUMN, PLN Boss Zulkifli Zaini: I Always Work Above Target

JAKARTA - President Director of PT PLN (Persero) Zulkifli Zaini told about his career journey until he was able to occupy the position of managing director. According to him, the success he got was the result of a willingness to work, and felt that he exceeded the target assignment given.

"I say a very simple answer to my grip is that I always work beyond the expectations of the assignor," he said at the 'Indonesia Young Business Leaders' event, Thursday, February 18th.

For example, said Zulkifli, if the boss gave an assignment to be completed in 2 weeks then he tried to finish it faster than the target. However, by still running it well.

Zukifli also admitted that he never planned his career, let alone planning to become the President Director of PLN as he is today. He said, what he did was only work beyond the expectations of the assignor.

"Because of that I am with all humility. I have never planned a career so many years, so many years, no, I do not think like that," he said.

As is known, Zulkifli started his career as an account officer (AO) at a bank. Then, Zulkifli received a mandate by the Minister of BUMN Erick Thohir as the main director of PT PLN (Persero).

Regarding his future career, Zulkifli left it all to his superiors. Because, he said, the most important thing was to complete the task as well as possible.

"And I leave it to my superiors, please think about my future career in mind. What I do, I complete all the tasks on the table as well as possible beyond the expectations of the assignor," he said.
