KPU Designates Bobby Nasution-Aulia Rachman Mayor-Deputy Medan Walkot Elected

MEDAN - Bobby Nasution-Aulia Rachman has been appointed as mayor and deputy mayor of Medan for the period 2021-2024. The decision was made by the Medan KPU after Akhyar Nasution's lawsuit was dropped at the Constitutional Court.

The head of the Medan KPU, Agussyah Ramadani Damanik, who led the open plenary meeting, admitted that the level of public participation in the Medan Pilkada contest was not able to achieve the national target.

However, the level of participation rose from the 2015 Medan Pilkada contest. Agus explained that the results of this determination would be submitted to the Medan DPRD for processing.

"Later the results of the decision will be conveyed to the Chairman of the DPRD. Later the DPRD will conduct a plenary proposal for the inauguration which results are conveyed to the Minister of Home Affairs through the governor," he said.

Agus asked all parties to accept the results of the Medan Pilkada. To Bobby Nasution-Aulia Rachman, he said that many people depend on their hopes in accordance with the vision and mission that was conveyed during the campaign period.

The KPU recapitulation results showed the pair number 01 Akhyar Nasution - Salman Alfarisi received 342,580 votes. While the pair number 02 Bobby Nasution - Aulia Rachman received 393,327 votes.

Bobby-Aulia won in 15 sub-districts namely Medan Kota, Sunggal, Helvetia, Denai, West Medan, Medan Deli, Tuntung, Belawan, Medan Labuhan, Medan Polonia, Medan Baru, Medan Perjuangan, Petisah, East Medan and Medan Selayang District Districts.

Meanwhile Akhyar - Salman won in six sub-districts namely Medan Amplas, Medan Area, Medan Johor, Marelan, Medan Tembung, and Medan Maimun.
