Observer Regrets Prabowo Subianto's "Ndasmu Ethics"

Political observer Karyono Wibowo regretted the phrase "insult ethics" that came out of the mouth of presidential candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto which went viral on social media.

"Unfortunately, the presidential candidate number two Prabowo Subianto used words that contained a sarkastistic element," Karyono said as quoted by Antara, Sunday.

He said Prabowo as a prominent figure who is now a presidential candidate should avoid the word sarcastic and be interpreted as a diction of the umpatan.

According to the Executive Director of the Indonesian Public Institute (IPI), the word 'dasmu' in Javanese is the harshest person.

"P Prabowo's statement contains quotes that for the people, especially the Javanese people, can judge that these words do not reflect politeness ethics in speech so that they can create a negative image for Prabowo," said Karyono.

According to Karyono, the word should not be spoken from Prabowo's mouth, who is trying to find public sympathy to elect him as President of the Republic of Indonesia.

"I don't understand whether Prabowo slip of the tongue (her tongue, ed) or not being able to contain emotions and still being irritated by being bombarded with a question attack during the inaugural debate," he said.

Meanwhile, Prabowo's spokesman, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, stated that Prabowo's expression conveyed in front of Gerindra cadres at the party's internal event was in a joking context.
