The Karawang District Police, West Java Province, arrested five perpetrators of criminal acts of robbery using online prostitution mode. A perpetrator was forced to be shot for trying to fight back during the arrest process. Karawang Police Chief AKBP Wirdhanto Hadicaksono said officers shot him in the leg. Five perpetrators were arrested with the initials, RA (18), FAA (17), MAN (17), WSB (35) and a woman with the initials LY (18). The perpetrator launched his action through a dating application. "The female perpetrator with the initials LY (18) who is the wife of Siri from the head of the RA (35) robbery group is tasked with luring the victim," he said during the release of the case at the Karawang Police Headquarters, Antara, Friday, December 15. The perpetrator LY was tasked with luring the victim to have a meeting. While at the location, the victim who was riding a motorcycle was dispersed using a motorcycle belonging to the main perpetrator. As soon as the collision occurred, two other perpetrators approached and slashed the victim using a sharp weapon of the sickle type. "The victim fell and suffered a stab wound and then the victim's motorbike was taken away by the perpetrators," said the Police Chief. The arrests of the five perpetrators were also based on a report from victim Ariadi (40), a resident of Parakan Village, Tirtamulya District, Karawang, with the crime of robbery on Thursday, December 14, 2023. After receiving the report, the Karawang Police Satreskrim ranks moved to arrest the perpetrators, the day after receiving the report.

From the crimes committed by the perpetrators, the Karawang Police managed to confiscate a sharp weapon in the form of a sickle, a motorbike belonging to the victim and five cellphones. For his actions, the perpetrator is now being held at the Karawang Police Headquarters detention center, and is subject to Article 365 paragraph 2 and Article 480 of the Criminal Code with a maximum threat of four years in prison.
