Fulfilling The Lack Of Election Logistics Warehouses, DKI Provincial Government Borrows Wisma Athletes And Ministry Of Manpower Buildings

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is said to have proposed alternative recapitulation locations as well as logistics storage warehouses for the 2024 General Election in sub-districts that do not yet have this place.

In holding elections, local governments are required to facilitate the place to be used by the General Elections Commission (KPU).

Head of the DKI Jakarta KPU Planning and Logistics Division, Nelvia Gustina, explained that the DKI Provincial Government will borrow Wisma Atlet and buildings belonging to the Ministry of Manpower (Kemenaker) for the Kemayoran and Mampang sub-districts.

"An alternative place already exists and is being processed by the City Governments of South Jakarta and Central Jakarta. Alternatives to Mampang at the Director General of Binalavotas of the Ministry of Manpower. For Kemayoran, Wisma Atlet is being pursued," Nelvia said in a short message, Friday, December 15.

Previously, there was also one sub-district that was reported to not yet have an election logistics warehouse, namely Kebayoran Lama.

Furthermore, said Nelvia, the DKI Provincial Government has facilitated locations at the Kebayoran Lama District office and official residences.

"For Kebayoran, it's okay for the old one, using the 3rd and 4th floors of the sub-district office plus the sub-district official residence," said Nelvia.

Previously reported, Commission A of the DKI Jakarta DPRD urged the DKI Provincial Government to immediately find a solution to the shortage of logistics storage and recapitulation of the 2024 General Election.

This issue was complained by the DKI Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU). The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has lent all sports arenas (GOR) to each sub-district for election logistics storage.

However, there are still 11 GORs that are still being revitalized and have not yet been completely rebuilt. Several sub-districts have received alternative logistics warehouses, but there are still three sub-districts in Jakarta that do not yet have logistics and recapitulation warehouses.

"This vote recapitulation place is very important. This must really have a solution," said Chairman of Commission A of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Mujiyono in his statement, Wednesday, November 29.

Mujiyono said that his party would immediately summon the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government to find alternative places for logistics warehouses and election recapitulation no later than Sunday, December 10, 2023.

"The maximum on December 10 must be done. We have to agree that it will be resolved, met by the needs of the DKI Jakarta KPU. So we must make emphasis and supervision of this need to the executive," he said.
