JAKARTA - Chairman of the Expert Council of the Anies-Muhaimin Winning National Team (TIMnas AMIN) Hamdan Zoelva claims that if he wins the 2024 presidential election, he will invite the supporting political party to criticize the government.
Hamdan Zoelva emphasized that Anies and Cak Imin would not imitate President Joko Widodo's government, which seemed to close the space for criticism from political parties in parliament.
"We make sure it will be opened. So, supporting parties are definitely not like they are today. Criticism is part of the dynamics of state life," said Hamdan Zoelva at the Brawijaya X Change House, South Jakarta, Thursday, December 14.
According to Hamdan Zoelva, currently the voice of the opposition who voice criticism of the government does not have a channel. One of the reasons is because Jokowi brought many political parties to move to a government coalition.
"In fact, there may be boisterous voices who say it's wrong, but they don't dare, including from the voices in parliament in the House of Representatives. They don't dare to openly because of the closing of the doors of freedom and democracy," explained Hamdan Zoelva.
As Anies expressed in the presidential candidate debate last December 12, Hamdan Zoelva saw that the entry of opposition political parties into the government coalition occurred because of their desire to get business benefits.
"People are in power because in power there are many benefits, advantages of ease of business, business benefits, and that is a big problem for the country," said the former chairman of the Constitutional Court.
"Therefore, we assure Pak Anies' own attitude that it is time for us to return democracy from its tracks," he added.
