The AMIN National Team Denies Allegations Of Selling Disadvantages Alluding To The Harun Al Rasyid Case In The Presidential Candidate Debate

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Expert Council of the National Team for Winning Anies-Muhaimin (AmIN National Team) Hamdan Zoelva denied Anies Baswedan was selling people's misery by alluding to the case of Harun Al Rasyid's death in the inaugural debate of the 2024 presidential election.

"No, it's not (intending to sell the misery of others," said Zoelva at the Brawijaya X Change House, South Jakarta, Thursday, December 14.

Zoelva explained that Anies' goal in alluding to the Harun case and at the same time bringing Harun's father to the AMIN camp's ranks in the first presidential candidate debate was to raise public awareness that there were still unresolved cases.

"It happened to build our awareness as a nation that there are injustices that have not been resolved. That is a lesson for anyone in the future government," explains Zoelva.

On Tuesday, December 12, Anies Baswedan unexpectedly brought Didin Wahyudin to his first 2024 presidential election debate arena at the Indonesian KPU Office.

Didin is the father of Harun Al Rasyid, the victim of the May 21-22 riots in 2019 which occurred due to a demonstration against the results of the 2019 election recapitulation. Harun died with gunshot wounds in the chaotic action.

Didin sat right behind the seats of Anies and Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) in the line of his support team. Harun's mother who was also present beside Didin. Didin's presence was also mentioned by Anies in the initial presentation of the debate.

"Present with me here his father must be Al Rasyid. Harun is the son who died a supporter of Pak Prabowo in the 2019 presidential election who demanded justice at that time, protested the election results. What happened? He died. Until today there is no clarity," said Anies, Tuesday, December 12.

Responding to this, Prabowo Subianto's volunteer, Matahari Pagi accused Anies of justifying any means to win the 2024 presidential election by making people's lives and difficulties as political merchandise.

"Anies has sold the misery of others, sold the loss of a person's life, in order to gain power. This is a heinous act," said the Commander of the Morning Sun, Sutia Budi.
