Prabowo Will Continue Food Estate That Gets Leaning Highlights

JAKARTA - Presidential Candidate Prabowo Subianto is confirmed to continue the food estate development program or food barns to strengthen food security.

"What has been done by Pak Jokowi will be continued, especially programs that actually need strategic steps such asfood estate," said member of the Expert Council of the National Campaign Team (TKN) Muhammad Sirod as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, December 14.

According to Sirod,food estate is needed so that people have sufficient food supply, especially during crises or critical times such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

He gave an example of several food estates that Jokowi considered successful in managing, one of which was agriculture in Karawang.

"Karawang has become a food barn for the national community and that is a concrete example that has succeeded," he said.

On the one hand, Sirod acknowledged that many parties criticized the program because it was considered damaging to the environment, such as cutting and utilizing land to build afood estate.

However, he stressed that the need for food to be met by the community is much more important.

Prabowo will also deploy many experts in agriculture so that the construction of flat estates with environmental protection.

"It doesn't mean that we intend to damage the environment, but we need to eat and have to clear land, of course, with agricultural technology," he said.
