Gibran's Action In The Presidential Candidate Debate Will Be Reprimanded By The KPU, TKN: Can't You Give Enthusiasm?

JAKARTA - Secretary of TKN Prabowo-Gibran, Nusron Wahid, was surprised that the General Elections Commission (KPU) would reprimand Cawapres number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the aftermath of his encouraging the audience during the inaugural debate on Tuesday, December 12, evening. "How can I give encouragement," said Nusron to reporters, Thursday, December 14. Nevertheless, Nusron said, his party respects the KPU's decision to consider Gibran's action not to be carried out. Because, he said, those who have authority regarding the debate are the KPU. "If we are reprimanded, we will accept it," said Nusron. Previously, the KPU stated that it would convey a warning to the team of presidential and vice presidential candidates regarding excessive actions taken in the 2024 presidential election debate. It is known that Gibran suddenly stood up from his chair to raise the enthusiasm of the audience after Prabowo defended him regarding the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK). "This is what we cannot and we are reprimanding," said Chairman of the Indonesian KPU Hasyim Asy'ari to reporters, Wednesday, December 13.

Even so, Hasyim said, the warning had not been conveyed to the person concerned. "During the evaluation and the next debate preparation meeting we will convey," he said.
